context

I needed somewhere to externalize my thinking. Not for an audience, not for engagement, just for clarity, while having the feel that it's documented online. Ramblings is that space: a place where half-formed thoughts can exist, where I can revisit what I was thinking months ago, where writing becomes a conversation with myself.

constraints

  • >Writing had to feel easy and judgment-free
  • >No pressure to publish or stay consistent
  • >Needed to support messy thinking

approach

Designed it as a thinking surface, not a blog. No commenting, no metrics, no pressure—just writing. The interface stays minimal so it doesn't influence what gets written. Ideas live next to each other without categories or rigid structure.

key decisions

  • >Called it a 'thinking surface' instead of a blog to set the right tone
  • >Removed all feedback mechanisms, meaning no comments, likes, or view counts
  • >Kept the design simple and straightforward
  • >Treated entries as an ongoing archive rather than individual posts
  • >Made access intentional instead of broadcasting everywhere

outcome

Ramblings has become a long-term archive of how I think. It's less about what any single entry says and more about seeing patterns emerge over time—watching my thinking shift, noticing what keeps coming back, observing what changes. You are welcome to try it out
